What information is required to be included on a Maryland LLC Articles of Organization?
A: LLC Articles of Organization require far less information than a corporate articles of incorporation. The only four items required are:
- The Name of the LLC, which must contain the words "Limited Liability Company" or the abbreviations "L.L.C", "LLC", "L.C." or "LC";
- The Purpose for which the LLC is formed, which may be for any lawful purpose except acting as an insurer (many companies list the purpose as "any lawful purpose");
- The address of the LLC's Principal Office; and
- The name and address of the LLC's Resident Agent, which may be a citizen resident of the State of Maryland, or a Maryland corporation or limited liability company.
